Seminar on Teaching of Chinese Writing Carried out in Primary Schools in Futian District

     How should we develop the students¡¯ thinking of writing? On 11 May, the Futian Academy of Educational Sciences held a seminar on the teaching of Chinese writing in primary schools at ShiXia School. The seminar invited Luo Zhubiao, an adviser for the experimental area on the curriculum reform of the National Institute of Education Sciences and the founder of Yang Guang Wo Writing, and teacher Peng Cuihua who is crowned the National Outstanding Teacher of Nine-year Compulsory Education. More than 400 people, such as the Chinese teachers of primary schools in the district and the members of the Chinese study team of primary schools in the district participated in this activity. ShiXia School¡¯s Principal Li Yongsheng and colleagues from Anhui¡¯s Bozhou City and Shenzhen¡¯s Nanshan District also attended this seminar.

¡¡¡¡The seminar was kicked off with teacher Peng¡¯s impressive and interesting lesson on creative writing. Using works from students, teacher Peng guided students to perceive while reading in the class, cleverly directing them to think emotionally so as to capture the touching moment, to think about the past in a forward manner and deduce the future retrospectively. When the students fully understood the key conception that writing should be like mountains which boast ups and downs, teacher Peng raised a simple but meaningful subject, the Door, for the students to have a brainstorm around a knock, fierce knocks on the door by applying what they had learned. Finally, teacher Peng told her own story and emotionally read her work of memories about her grandmother, giving the students a wonderful demonstration. Deeply moved, many students and teachers on site shed tears.

¡¡¡¡Teacher Peng¡¯s lesson on creative writing featured the main ideas of writing throughout and the art of writing naturally. All the teachers on site were amazed, praising in the WeChat group. Teacher Deng Liyun of Huaxin Primary School said, ¡°in the beautiful story of Companion Luminary, the children were mulling over the wonderful art of literature; they were passionate about the poems of Wang Guozhen and Zhuang Zhou; they were bold in bringing forth new ideas with wild imagination and they were immersed in the teacher¡¯s model writing.¡± Touched on site, teacher Yu Yunde, a Chinese teaching researcher for primary school education in our district said, ¡°writing is a thing that we should do with our heart.¡±

¡¡¡¡Teacher Luo Zhubiao's lesson is relaxing, humorous and enjoyable

¡¡¡¡

¡¡¡¡If teacher Peng's writing lesson is like a piece of gorgeous music, then teacher Luo Zhubiao's lesson of guidance on writing is a classical song of lasting lingering charm. By combining education and entertainment, teacher Luo¡¯s lesson is relaxing and enjoyable. He asked the children to construct the writing directory by making up and telling stories so as to develop a logical thinking and a vivid imagination, and thus the children could fully understand the idea of vivid imagination stimulating everlasting writing inspiration. Wandering in the chapters of life, knowledge and imagination, the children were thinking about directory, logic and images. The entire lesson was wonderful with humor throughout. The imaginative children were rushing on to the front to express themselves, some children even singing songs and dancing.

¡¡¡¡Then, teacher Luo provided the participating teachers with a lecture on Read the Nature of Children ¨C to Build An Ecosystem of Chinese Learning. In the lecture, teacher Luo presented that writing was structured from four dimensions, and the pedagogical concepts of advocating to enhance reading, strengthen thinking and improve life through practice should be promoted. He pointed out that thinking is the most important thing for children¡¯s writing and it is mostly necessary to develop the children¡¯s ability to listen, read, study, think, express verbally and in writing and perform. Teacher Luo illustrated his Chinese learning ecosystem, which integrates the Chinese abilities and development into a complete ecosystem.
